This is a one day event run by the Asylum Support Appeals Project (ASAP) titled "Legal Routes to Asylum Support".
The day will be an opportunity to:
Meet the ASAP team and learn about what we do
Learn about changes to the political context and asylum advice contracts
Understand the legal duties of the Home Office and Local Authorities when supporting families
Attend practical workshops on a range of topics
Find out about organisations supporting asylum seekers and refugees
Talk to others who work with asylum seekers and refugees around the country
The conference is free but places are limited so please register as soon as possible by following this link. Booking closes on 7th June, 2019.
If your organisation provides services to asylum seekers, refugees or irregular migrants we encourage you to bring posters and leaflets to display so that attendees can learn more about your work. If you intend to do this please contact Dianah Rouse: Dianah@asaproject.org.uk so that we can make space for you to display your materials.
We have a small budget to help organisations with a very low income who would otherwise struggle to attend. We cannot guarantee this, but please contact us at the above email address if you would like to request this.
We look forward to seeing you there!
