Lewisham Democracy Review
In his manifesto, the mayor of Lewisham, Damien Egan, promised a review of how residents, community groups and businesses can have a stronger say in local decisions to make our council even more democratic, open and transparent. This promise was supported and agreed by the first Full Council meeting in July 2018.
This is the first complete review of how the Council works with residents, community groups and businesses in 16 years. It is an important step towards making sure everyone in the borough knows how they can have their say, get involved in local democracy and shape the future of the borough.
There are already lots of ways you can get involved in democracy and decision making in Lewisham. But it could be even better, and we need your help to do it.
