LRMN Hosts Biggest Pub Quiz Yet
Take a look at the successes and snapshots of our biggest-ever Community Pub Quiz Fundraiser!
Every year, our team and community look forward to our annual Community Pub Quiz Fundraiser at Jam Circus on Deptford High Street. Our event is part of the London Legal Support Trust’s Great Legal Quiz, which happens at the same time across the country to raise money for access to justice initiatives – including LRMN’s free advice services. It’s also our time to get together, win prizes from our local community, and spread solidarity. This year, we decided to go bigger and better than ever!
For the first time, we had arcade games, including a spin on the wheel and a guess how many peanuts were in our jar, to give participants more opportunities to win prizes. We were so happy to see our brand-new LRMN stickers, badges, and tote bags go to lucky winners!
Our raffle offered even bigger prizes from amazing local businesses around Lewisham and Greenwich including…
- Two tickets to see a film at Greenwich Picturehouse,
- £50 at local boutique Edy & Bridge in Nunhead,
- brand-new LRMN stickers,
- £25 toward a delicious meal at Marcella Deptford,
- £100 worth of laser tag games at Bunker 51,
- LRMN Cookbooks filled with recipes from our community,
- a framed map of South London worth £95 as well as a print from Me on the Map,
- and exclusive LRMN tote bags!
In addition, we brought in a professional Quizmaster to host our quiz for the first time. From roleplaying games to community fundraisers, Sean brought years of experience in emceeing and led our participants through a night full of quizzing.
Our Pub Quiz raised £712 for our community support work, smashing our record from previous years! Those generous donations pay for
- 178 food parcels for sanctuary seekers seeking emergency support,
- 28 counselling sessions for destitute migrant women who have survived trauma, OR
- housing advice for 7 homeless families to help them get back on their feet.
We love our Pub Quiz because it offers us the opportunity to build community with our teammates and neighbours while raising money for our services. Over the last 37 years, LRMN has supported thousands of sanctuary seekers to help them rebuild their lives with dignity – and we’ve never once charged for our services. Our work is only possible with our community’s continued support – and our Pub Quiz is proof!
