Community at the Heart of Hiring
From now on, every job interview at LRMN will include a community member with lived experience on the hiring panel. We believe that meaningful inclusion starts at the decision-making table.

By involving people with first-hand experience of the issues we work on, we’re making sure our recruitment reflects the realities and needs of our community. Their insight helps us choose candidates who not only bring great skills, but also a genuine understanding of the people we serve.
This change is part of our ongoing commitment to make LRMN a more inclusive, transparent, and community-led organisation. It’s about making space, sharing power, and doing things differently.
Our first rounds of community-involved interviews have already taken place, and here’s what our community members have been saying:
“It is really good. It feels good, to know that we are involved. We have a say in who works in LRMN, and who they are. It makes me feel really part of the group.”
“I learned a lot, yes. It’s important to be professional, and to interview. It’s going to help us with finding a job. I’m glad this is happening.”

It’s also one more way we’re putting our values into action – not just in the services we run, but in the way we operate as a team.
We’re so proud to launch our Hiring Panel and can’t wait to see the impact it has on shaping a stronger, more representative LRMN.
