Our new Patient Advocacy Guide created with NHS South East London!
We're so excited to finally launch our new Advocacy Guide, created in partnership with the team at NHS South East London. We hope this guide will help sanctuary seekers navigate the healthcare system, answer common questions, and provide advice when charges occur.
You can find the guide here in English, Arabic, French, Spanish, Kurdish Sorani, Farsi, Somali, and Vietnamese!
Please feel free to print it and use it in your own groups.
What is this guide for?
Many NHS services are free for everyone, it doesn’t matter what your immigration status is. For some people with a more complicated immigration status, accessing the NHS can carry charges.
This guide will help you know:
• Which healthcare services are always
free for everyone
• Who does not have to pay
• Where you can get help if
you are charge
Thanks to the funding provided by the NHS South East London, this guide is now available in every GP practice site and hospital in Lewisham (with more boroughs to come hopefully!)
